Tripura Chief Minister and IT Minister Tapan Chakraborty’s failure to get a single IT company to start business in Tripura mars Central funded ‘IT Bhawan’s inauguration on Monday, April 24, 2017.

Information Technology (IT) illiterate Tripura Chief Minister inaugurated a Rs 50 crores empty building on Monday (April 24,2017), named as ‘IT Bhawan’,and lameduck Manik wasted no time in claiming this ‘IT company less’ building as largest IT hub. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, accompanied by IT and Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) Director General Omkar Rai inaugurated the IT hub, set up at a cost of Rs 50 crore which fully funded by Centre, however cunning Manik and his IT Minister Tapan Chakraborty avoided mentioning Central Govt’s contribution.

Tripura’s economy deteriorating at rapid pace as no new industries or investments in IT or service sectors during Manik Sarkar led CPI-M regime of 24 years. Record high unemployment flooded with 7 lakhs unemployed youths, Tripura ranked 4th highest unemployment in nation, followed by miserable condition of hospitals to record high prices of essential commodities.

CPI-M and Manik Sarkar’s close coterie minted  tons of money as this Rs 50 crores Central Funding of ‘IT Bhawan’ helped to enrich Communist party’s cash reserves, CPI-M’s Civil Contractors rather than generating any hope for Tripura’s IT & 7 Lakhs unemployed people.

Even though Northeast ASSOCHAM Chairman Sanjay Jhunjhunwala and  Bangladesh Industry Minister Alhaz Amir Hossain attended Tripura Govt’s poorly organized ‘INVEST – TRIPURA Business Meet’ on June 4,2016 at Pragna Bhavan but they all directly praised Narendra Modi Govt for India’s Industrial Progress in different sectors.

Also, Bangladesh Foreign Minister to ASSOCHAM delegates were candid enough to mention Modi Govt’s contribution in NE, Bangladesh region. Manik Sarkar and his Industry Minister Tapan Chakraborty miserably failed to invite India’s prominent Industrialists to IT Industry bigwigs to invest in Tripura.

Tripura Govt’s lackluster planning caused  ‘INVEST – TRIPURA’ meet an utter flop as no prominent industrialist or IT company heads were to be seen in this one day meet. 

Manik Sarkar Govt’s lack of interest for Tripura’s economic development is no surprise as former communists Chief Ministers like Jyoti Basu, Buddhadeb Bhattacharje,  Nripen Chakraborty always worked against the economic prosperity of Bengal and Tripura.

So, Tripura's poor became further poorer as lack of industry, employment caused social misery, which directly helped CPI-M to pull those poverty stricken population into party fold.

Even Bangladesh Industry Minister Alhaz Amir Hossain said in 2016 summit that,"India can be an effective, important and liberal partner of Bangladesh in setting up of modern technology-based medium and heavy industries."  

But Tripura CM had no clue about modern technology or IT Industry, - failed to understand the importance of inviting investments in State..

It’s a well known fact that, Indian Communists  are most corrupt, also the most irrelevant.

Why did Communism fail so abysmally in West Bengal and even its decaying in Tripura with multiple corruptions ?

Surprisingly, CPI-M’s godfather Karl Marx had a fascination with Capitalism and admired its immense productive potential. He and Engels advertised the advent of globalisation in their youthful Communist Manifesto. His ideal of Socialism was timed for well after the maturity of Capitalism.

It was Lenin who changed the argument. He was shocked by the breakdown of working class internationalism in the First World War. He saw the future as dark. He bet that Capitalism would blow itself up due to increasing crises. His lucky victory in Russia established his idea as the Marxism for the Twentieth century. Communism’s luck continued and Capitalism suffered the Great Depression. It looked like the Revolution was imminent.

Lenin had conflated Imperialism and Capitalism. This enhanced the appeal of Communism for the colonies. Stalin consigned millions to concentration camps but the idea that the Soviet Union was the hope of the world remained strong. Victory in the Second World War and then taking over Eastern European countries enhanced the reputation of the Soviet Union.

China had its own Revolution which confirmed Lenin’s wisdom that the Communist revolution would start in the backward countries, not developed ones as Marx may have thought. India was supposed to be the next ripe fruit to fall.

The CPI-M had blotted its copybook by supporting the British rulers during the war, as for them the fight was for defence of the Soviet Union.

Indian communists CPI-M, CPI denounced India’s independence as illusory and involved in many anti-national activities.

Stalin thought India was not ready for a Revolution. So the Communists began to play the democracy game under orders waiting for the signal to revolt. Alas, they never understood the Indian society and the salience of caste.

CPI-M romanticised the working class, small as it was, employed in the few large factories. But economic growth stagnated due to distrust of the private sector. India failed to industrialise. The working class remained small. Then Indira Gandhi cleverly bought out the communists by giving them patronage. The Communists abandoned any critique of the Indian political system and only criticised imperialists.

Alas, for them Capitalism proved more robust than Lenin had thought and it revived while Leninism lost the battle of economic power.

Rajiv Gandhi / Manmohan Singh / P.V.Narsimha Rao government abandoned the failed model of Socialism in 1991 and liberalised the economy which began to grow at steady pace which caused final nails on coffin for India’s communism.

So, its no surprise that Manik Sarkar or CPI-M will always work towards Tripura’s economic misery rather than economic prosperity. No one can deny the fact that communism needs steady supply of poverty stricken people, so Tripura CPI-M no exception.

In other words, Manik Sarkar's two decades governance only made Tripura poorer, a massive failure by North East India's only 'red visioned' IT illiterate Chief Minister.
