Islamabad, Jan 8 (TIWN) Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday said that rising tensions in the Middle East was not in anyone's interest, adding that the region could not afford war.
“The region cannot afford to go to war. It is of no interest to anyone and will affect the global economy,” Dawn News Qureshi said in a statement. Qureshi’s statements came on the same day that Tehran launched missile attacks on the Ain-al-Asad military base in Iraq, which housed US troops and a Washington-based air base in Erbil.
