KAMALPUR, Oct 12 (TIWN): Adding more problem to nabbed SPO jawan Rajkumar Das, the injured Nayek of the camp Aapansen Akhtar who was shot by him, breathed his last at GBP Hospital last evening.
This news was admitted by the top cops and Rajkumar would surely undergo severe punishment. This also created an air of distrust and resentment among the cop officials and subordinate staffs.
On 5th October last, around 9-45 pm, SPO jawan of Shimbukchak camp in this sub-division, fired three bullets on his commanding officer cum camp in-charge, Aapansen Akhtar. Aapansen was holding the post of Nayek.
Immediately, he was taken to District Hospital at Kulai and then to GBP Hospital at Agartala. After firing, Rajkumar fled from the camp. Police launched combing operation in search of him.
And on the next night Rajkumar was arrested by police. Then he was produced before the court and would again be produced on 22nd October next. It got speculated that, the rough behaviour of Aapansen and using of slang languages to Rajkumar made him to fire to his superior.
Moreover, it got reported that, Rajkumar was intoxicated then and had joined the camp after several days’ of unauthorized leave.
However, Aapansen could not overcome the incident and succumbed to his injuries last afternoon. Now, what steps the police would adopt, remained the matter to be seen.
