AGARTALA, Oct 6 (TIWN): With Rs. 87.76 lakh still remaining undistributed, the Tripura Minority Cooperative Development Corporation Limited has appealed to eligible minority community youths and beneficiaries to come forward and apply for loans to start or expand their businesses.
The corporation is seeking to utilize the remaining funds for self-employment and livelihood opportunities among unemployed youth and eligible beneficiaries from the minority community.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, corporation Chairman Jashimuddin said the organization had received a total of Rs. 2.89 crore from the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation. The funds reached the Tripura corporation on May 28, 2026.
Following the receipt of the funds, the corporation published notices in newspapers on June 4, June 13, June 14, August 1 and August 2, inviting eligible beneficiaries to submit applications for loans.
According to corporation data, Rs. 2,01,23,420 has already been distributed among eligible beneficiaries. However, Rs. 87,76,580 remains available for distribution.
Jashimuddin urged eligible minority youths and other beneficiaries to come forward and make use of the available loan facility.
He said that allowing the remaining funds to go unused or be returned would be unfortunate for the state. He also pointed out that Chief Minister Manik Saha had made efforts to secure the funds and stressed the need to ensure that the sanctioned amount reaches eligible beneficiaries.
The corporation has now stepped up efforts to distribute the remaining Rs. 87.76 lakh among eligible applicants and encourage minority community youths to use the financial assistance for self-employment and business activities.
