Tripura’s 4 rivers listed among 36 top polluted rivers of India

AGARTALA, July 7 (TIWN): In a major setback for Tripura, people of the state have created image with unhygienic attitude and rebellious towards nature as Tripura’s four rivers made place in the list of 36 polluted rivers.
Howrah river, Manu river, Bijay river (Bishalgarh), Gomati river are identified as the most polluted rivers in Tripura and also on the verge of death.
Tripura has 11 rivers and almost all rivers’ conditions are left pathetic.
Known as Waterman of India, Dr Rajendra Singh has urged centre for immediate action to save the rivers.
Sing attended a programme in Tripura University recently.
