Indian Govt and Iran Govt authorities held a talk regarding the situation in Iran.
"Received a call from Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi. We discussed the evolving situation in and around Iran," said External Affairs Minister of India Jaishankar.
Meanwhile over 12,000 people in Iran are feared to be dead and US President Donald Trump informed the he got reports that the executions (protesters/ arrested people) will stop which is under scrutiny.
Iran's death toll from recent protests is estimated to be between 12,000 to 20,000, according to various sources, including Iran International and CBS News. This estimate is based on reports from government insiders, medical personnel, eyewitnesses, and field reports.
The protests, which began on December 28, 2025, were sparked by economic hardship and have grown into a broad anti-regime uprising.
The Iranian government has acknowledged around 2,000 deaths, attributing many casualties to "terrorists" and foreign-influenced agitators. However, human rights groups and opposition outlets claim the actual number is significantly higher.
The protests have drawn international attention, with US President Donald Trump warning of potential intervention if the regime continues to crack down on protesters.
