ISLAMABAD, Nov 11 (TIWN): A devastating explosion rocked the Islamabad district judicial complex today, killing at least 12 people and injuring 27 others. The blast, which occurred near the entrance of the court building, was caused by a powerful car bomb, according to officials.

According to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the blast was a "suicide attack" carried out by an individual who tried to enter the court premises but detonated the device outside after failing to gain entry. Naqvi added that the investigation into the attack is ongoing, and authorities are looking into all aspects of the incident.

The Pakistani government has condemned the attack, with Defense Minister Khawaja Asif blaming Afghanistan's Taliban rulers for allowing the attack to take place.

Pakistan also blamed Afghanistan and India behind the attack.

"In this environment, it would be futile to hold out greater hope for successful negotiations with the rulers of Kabul," he said on X.

"We are in a state of war. Anyone who thinks that the Pakistan Army is fighting this war in the Afghan-Pakistan border region and the remote areas of Balochistan should take today's suicide attack at the Islamabad district courts as a wake-up call: this is a war for all of Pakistan, in which the Pakistan Army is giving daily sacrifices and making the people feel secure," he said.
