NEW DELHI, April 29 (TIWN): Alow-intensity earthquake jolted Haryana’s Rohtak district on Tuesday evening. The quake of 3.0 magnitude on the Richter scale, occurred at around 7:10 PM and tremors were felt in Rohtak, said the National Center for Seismology.
Now, today morning a major earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter Scale (few media reported 6.00 on Richter Scale) jolted Northeast India on Wednesday morning. The earthquake originated in Assam and tremors were felt across Assam, North Bengal and other parts of the Northeast.
According to the National Centre of Seismology, the earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter Scale originated in Sonitpur of Assam. Locals in Assam and North Bengal reported the major earthquake around 8 am on Thursday.
