New York, Oct 5 (TIWN) New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has said that the state will begin an "aggressive" enforcement of health orders in Covid-19 hotspots from Monday onwards as infection rates in these areas have continued to spike.
Twenty zip codes mostly in the downstate region now have 21 percent of the state's positive cases, the governor said. Those areas have an infection rate of 4.8 percent as of Sunday, Cuomo said, while the overall state's infection rate stands at 0.9 percent not counting those hotspots. Central New York's infection rate stands at 0.8 percent as of Sunday, according to the state, and is not considered a hotspot.
