AGARTALA, Jan 21 (TIWN): BJP State Observer Sunil Deodhar has greeted Tripura on its statehood day. But at the same time, Deodhar also has hit the Communist Govt hard accusing for keeping the state undeveloped even after 35 years of total ruling in Tripura.

"My heartfelt greetings to the people of Tripura on this Purna Rajya Divas. Ironically, I couldn’t find one good reason to celebrate it. The state came into existence as an aftermath of 1971 war. However, condition of Tripura deteriorated after gaining full statehood. Even after 46 years of statehood more than 60% of the population still lives in poverty, many are homeless. Even their basic needs have not been catered to", Deodhar said.

"Off 46 years of the statehood, CPM ruled the state for 35 years. Tripura not only is endowed with heritage structures, pristine nature, natural resources and biodiversity but there is lot of talent in the people of Tripura which has been neglected or rather suppressed by the ruling parties of the past.", the BJP leader added.

"Of course, this soil has given India stars like SD Burman, R D Burman, Somdev Devvarman, Deepa Karmakar and Sourabhee Debbarma and the nation is proud of them", he said.

"I assure the people of Tripura that our state will get its glory back soon; and entire nation will witness it when the state will celebrate the golden jubilee of the statehood in 2022. The new journey will begin on 3rd March, 2018 with the announcement of election results", Sunil Deodhar told media.
