AGARTALA, August 25 (TIWN): ADC village committees under Gandacherra sub division came under the scanner recently as they failed to produce audited accounts of income and expenditure from the last financial year till date, official sources said.
Two RD blocks under Gandacherra sub division- Damburnagar RD block and Raishyabari RD block comprises of 13 ADC village committees and 6 ADC village committees respectively. Each village committee would have to publish work-book on income and expenditure of 2013-14 by June, 2014 as per the Panchayat guidelines. The job wasn’t done yet, an official source informed here.
Each village committee gets the entire financial facility from their allotted PDF fund and at the end of every financial year the village committee publishes a certain work book, publically, based on which the village committee actually represents an official account on their income and expenditure of the concerned financial year. This workbook actually enlists a clear account on all of the expenditures driven from the provided PDF fund to each village committee.
But this time the entire section of 19 village committees under Damburnagar block and Raishyabari block of Gandacherra sub division has failed to provide any such documentation. Now leaving the concerns of block development officers, Panchayat Extension Officer of Damburnagar block Suman Debnath, Jatindra Debbarma of Raishyabari block with a silent cooperation of village committees has already made all the false documentation in this regard, an official source said here.
It seems like both the Panchayat Extension Officers carried out their dishonest malpractices silently, keeping both the Block Development Officers of Damburnagar and Raishyabari Pradeep Reang and Pradeep Debbarma in the dark.
