Tripura Election after 31 days ! CPI-M mocks at BJP :  BJP replies 'Nothing is unexpected, BJP is already Prepared to defeat CPI-M'

AGARTALA, Jan 18 (TIWN): After Election date was declared (Election is on February 18) for left ruled Tripura, CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar said, "We are happy with the decision of Election Commission, which has kept its promise even though BJP wanted to delay the election". In reply BJP leaders Subol Bhowmik said, "BJP never wanted election to delay, rather we had demanded for a free and fair election and election commission has promised us that a free and fair election will be conducted". "The election date was not unexpected, rather we were prepared for it. BJP is in full preparation to defeat CPI-M and after election result, there will be no sign of CPI-M in Tripura". About IPFT, BJP's alliance, Bhowmik said that the alliance is in positive direction and by joining anti-CPI-M voters we are ready to defeat CPI-M.On the other side, CPI-M has declared that the candidate list can not be out today, which has triggered controversy already.Noteworthy, Assembly elections in Tripura will be conducted on February 18, while people in Meghalaya and Nagaland will be voting on February 27. Counting of votes in all the three states in the north-east is on March 3.

 "The code of conduct has come into effect from today in Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tripura ahead of the assembly elections in these three states", Chief Election Commissioner AK Jyoti told reporters. All the three states have 60 seats each in their assembly.

Now all the 3 states are eyeing on the election day, which is to be conducted just after one month. 

"Election for the three states will happen in two rounds. Tripura will vote on 18 February, 2018, which is a Sunday. Meghalaya and Nagaland will vote on 27 February which is a Tuesday," said AK Jyoti. 

The CEC further said that the counting of votes in all three states will be conducted on 3 March, 2018. The results will be declared on the same day.

"On 18th Feb polling will be held in Tripura & results on 3rd March! On declaration of results. Tripura will be celebrating Mukti Diwas more than Vijay Diwas ! Need your blessings!", BJP State Observer Sunil Deodhar tweeted.
