AGARTALA, Jan 15 (TIWN): With another major blow for CPI-M, State BJP has formed a committee for the tea garden workers of the state. The committee has been inaugurated named Tripura Tea Garden workers cell.

Delivering a big blow to CPI-M's tea garden politics the party has formed committees to boost Tripura tea-production promising further to raise the daily wages of the workers at Rs. 340/- after coming in power.

Addressing the press, Party President Biplab Deb said that Tripura Govt calls the tea garden workers as Hindustani but never calls them as Tripura's residents.

"Ahead of election, suddenly 70 rupees were hiked of their wages by the CPI-M Govt, but announcement is not enough. Give them the hiked amount within 7 days if you can, because after election you will forget everything", said Biplab Deb.

"Since many years, 58 tea gardens in Tripra left in deplorable shape. Many workers are from Jharkhand, Orissa but till day Tripura Govt has not recognized them as Tripura residents. Govt calls them as Hindustani. Hindustani is everybody but they are not Jharkhand residents, not Bihar residents but Tripura's residents", said Deb.

"BJP will never call them as Hindustani but Tripura-Basi", added Deb.
