AGARTALA, Jan 15 (TIWN): Agricultural Engineering even though has become a mandatory aspect for Agricultural Development of the nation and throughout the country there are high demands of Agri-Engineers either in Govt or in Private Sectors, but Tripura Govt yet to feel the importance of Agri-Engineers.

However, since 2006 Tripura Govt has been recommending Agri-Engineering courses for its joint entrance cracked students and to get Agri-Engineering atleast a student has to score well and must stay within 150 ranking through PCM. But till day TPSC or any Govt job advertisement released in Tripura didn’t ask for Agri-Engineering, which is leading massive waste of talents and at the same time the burden of unemployment has hit the passed out Agri-Engineers in Tripura. Many Agri-Engineers are working outside the state in private companies, but right now there are at least 110 engineers in Tripura, who are striving for recognition. But even after meeting multiple times with the Principal Secretary GSG Aayangar, Minister Aghore Debbarma and TPSC High Officials nothing happened.

Once the youths also met Chief Minister Manik Sarkar but the Chief Minister directly told them in coming 5 to 6 years there is no chance for their jobs, neither state has any demand for Agri-Engineers.

But during selection procedure it’s written in the Agri-Engineering course details that after pass out 5 to 6 years the graduates will be working under the state govt.

Again as they have no option left rather than private jobs outside the states, but the other states also prefer own state’s candidates rather than Tripura’s Agri Engineering. In this situation, rather than High Court, the youths left with no other option.

Recently TPSC asked for engineers in Agriculture Dept. but again there were no option for the Agri-Engineers, rather Civil Engineering passed out students were preferred. But in Agri-Engineering along with the advanced agricultural knowledge, civil engineering is also taught.

But, even after recommending students through joint entrance Tripura Govt is doing fully step motherly attitude with the Agri-Engineering passed out students, whereas Civil Engineers are being appointed in those posts. Soon, the youths may file a case in Tripura High Court.
