AGARTALA, Jan 15 (TIWN): Even though CPI-M Politburo member Brinda Karat claimed that CPI-M is women's favourite party, but after the 42 years old housewife's gang rape and murder at Dharmanagar, no visit was done by the leader at there, neither police could give any satisfactory answer yet. This issue is raising after one housewife named Pritama Malakar (42) was brutally raped, murdered on yesterday night. Her body was found in a pond, far from 1 and half KM away from her house. On the occasion of Makar sankranti this incident has once again reminded state about the increasing crime rates against women in the state.

Among the total crimes take place in Tripura 86 % are crimes against women and everyday 2 rapes are reported.

Her husband Dhirendra Malakar told police that at around 3.30 AM she went outside for natural works. But after certain times, he understood that she had not returned.

Then a constant search for Pritama had begun across the village but nowhere she was found.

At last in the morning her body was found clothless. Her family members have broken down in tears, cries after the incident.

Her body was sent for post mortem, but nobody has been arrested so far.

Recently, BJP National President, Amit Shah in his Tripura visit on Jan 7 said, “Country’s highest tortured women are in Tripura under the CPI-M Govt here. Among its crime rates 86 % crimes are done upon the mothers and sisters. Everyday 2 rapes are reported from Tripura”.
