AGARTALA, Jan 9 (TIWN): Even though Tripura Chief Minister had rejected Rs. 130 crore's of health project for hospital development, but he has taken decision to build stadium at Assam Rifles ground. Manik Sarkar while inaugurating indoor stadium at Netaji Chowmuhani said that there should be no objection for allowing Assam Rifles ground to make as a stadium. "If Assam Rifles with their own money or Central fund can prepare it, we don't have any problem. Otherwise, we will make it by our own expense or centre's help", said Sarkar. Manik Sarkar also said that India-Govt has to allow it. "There should not be any problem on behalf of Assam Rifles to allow this. This field is for all and our children and Assam Rifles students both sections will use it. 15th August, 26th January will be celebrated there", added Manik Sarkar.

CM was addressing at indoor stadium inauguration programme today at Agartala Netaji Chowmuhani in the presence of gymnast Dipa Karmakar and her coach Bisweswar Nandi.

Earlier, allegation had raised, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar's plan of converting every open space of Agartala into concrete structures only fueled by the sole desire to create more wealth for ruling party fund and contractors. Chief Minister's letter to Prime Minister Modi to hand over 115.70 acres of Assam Rifles defence land to construct a modern sports complex, stadium only justifies the nefarious plans of State Govt. Fact is, massive constructions of stadiums always fetch multifold benefits to ruling party as contractors  supplying construction materials can pocket crores and enrich CPIM party fund. After construction of  a stadium, rather than sports persons, it becomes another playground of politicians as endless rallies destroy the ground within no time. For example newly constructed Vivekananda Maidan (former Astabal ground) was used for more political gatherings rather than sports events, endless political rallies destroyed the ground.

But on the other side, Tripura Govt till day has not received Rs. 130 crores of project to develop the health service here.  Hitting Chief Minister's anti-developmental communist agenda, BJP National President Amit Shah said, “In case of developmental report card, everywhere Tripura Govt is failed because it has no intention”.
