AGARTALA, August 23 (TIWN): Price of potato in Tripura even sets a record at Rs 50 per kilo. But there is not any visible action from the left front government in Tripura. State Civil Supplies Minister Bhanulal Saha told TIWN that the price can't be controlled by State Government, need interference of Central Government, in the existing market regulation mechanism.

The price of onion and potato is increasing day by day. The price of onion reached the level of 50-60 per kg and of potato 35-40 per kg.  Not only had the poor middle class are also suffering a lot for sky scraping price of vegetables and edibles in the state.

Talking to a seller, discloses the fact that because of the high price the selling of these two products became low. On the other hand according to a customer, it becomes unbearable for them to buy potatoes and onions. But as they become indispensable in everyday life so they had to buy it at high price also.

However, Governments view about this is negative. Civil Supplies Minister Mr Saha claimed that controlling the price is not under the purview of the State Government. The Central Government can only take step against this.
