Rajen Gohain flags off much awaited Humsafar Express : Tripura connects with South India by Railways covering 3000 KM

AGARTALA, Jan 5 (TIWN): Finally much awaited Hamsafar Express has started its maiden journey from Agartala Railway Station after Railway Minister for State Rajen Gohain has flagged of the train at 5.05 PM today. Connecting Tripura with Bangalore, Humsafar express has been inaugurated by Rajen Gohain, Minister of Railway today at Agartala Railway Station.The Express train will cover total 48 stoppages from Agartala to Bangalore journey and after reaching at Bangalore, the train will start back from Bangalore on Jan 9 and will reach here in Agartala on January 12. Since 2016 various express trains including Tripura Sundari Express, Rajdhani Express were inaugurated in Agartala Railway Station and finally by connecting state Tripura with Bangalore, the Northeast State has now connected with South India under the Modi Govt at Centre.

The Humsafar Express's inauguration was announced on 29th December by NFR. The proposal of extension of 12503 / 12504 KYG / BNC Humsafar Express from KYQ up to Agartala was accepted with 14 coaches' allowance.Today at Udaipur another Railway Dept led programme was held where Rajen Gohian has inaugurated Udaipur-Garji railway service.

While addressing the gathering at Matabari Railway Station, Rajen Gohain said, “After Modi Govt came in power, with the initiative of Central Govt, Northeast is undergoing tremendous connectivity development and today’s Garji Railway service’s beginning has marked another connectivity history”."This a day of proud for Udaipur passengers with the connectivity has been expanded up to Garji. By 2019 the Rail Connectivity will cover till Sabroom, whereas the work on Indo-Bangla project is going on in already. With the demands raised by passengers, after the Election, Indian Railway Dept will start working to connect Tripura with Jharkhand as we have observed high demands of devotees to go at Deoghar via trains".

"PM Modi had determined to develop Northeast. Today we have broad gauge. Only at Sikkim, we couldn't launch BG service due to land acquisition problems. Tripura is undergoing tremendous changes, development due to Railway expansion and I can see that", said Gohain.

“By 2020 all Northeast states will be connected by railway service”, added Gohain.

" Today across the country Railway is expanding its network, laying tracks to connect, join all the States", said Gohain.

"Within 2019 all Northeast states' capitals to be joined with BG connection", the Minister added.
