UDAIPUR (Matabari) Jan 5 (TIWN): Much awaited Udaipur-Garji passenger train service have kicked off today after Minister for Railways Rajen Gohain has flagged off the passenger train at Matabari Railway Station at 1.45 PM. While addressing the gathering at Matabari Railway Station, Rajen Gohain said, “After Modi Govt came in power, with the initiative of Central Govt, Northeast is undergoing tremendous connectivity development and today’s Garji Railway service’s beginning has marked another connectivity history”."This a day of proud for Udaipur passengers with the connectivity has been expanded up to Garji. By 2019 the Rail Connectivity will cover till Sabroom, whereas the work on Indo-Bangla project is going on in already. With the demands raised by passengers, after the Election, Indian Railway Dept will start working to connect Tripura with Jharkhand as we have observed high demands of devotees to go at Deoghar via trains".

"PM Modi had determined to develop Northeast. Today we have broad gauge. Only at Sikkim, we couldn't launch BG service due to land acquisition problems. Tripura is undergoing tremendous changes, development due to Railway expansion and I can see that", said Gohain.

“By 2020 all Northeast states will be connected by railway service”, added Gohain.

" Today across the country Railway is expanding its network, laying tracks to connect, join all the States", said Gohain.

"Within 2019 all Northeast states' capitals to be joined with BG connection", the Minister added.

Noteworthy, making history Udaipur-Garji train service has been inaugurated at 1.45 PM. Minister of Railway for State Rajen Gohain has flagged off the maiden journey.

On the other side, three top leaders of CPI-M including Transport Minister Manik Dey, MP Jiten Chowdhury and Jharna Das Baidya have not attended the Udaipur Railway Station inauguration programme today. MP Shakar Prasad Datta, MLA Pranajit Sinha Roy, MLA Madhab Saha, Minister Naresh Jamatia and NFR high officials also joined the flag off ceremony at Matabari Railway Station.

Centering the programme, mass crowd were seen since the morning at Matabari Railway Station.  A huge numbers of passengers had accompanied the journey led by cab controller (Rail-Driver) Jhantu Das.
