Agartala, August 23 (TIWN): The Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) has contemplated to develop infrastructure of the district council sub-zonal offices, ADC chief executive member Ranjit Debbarma said.
Replying to a question moved by member of district council (MDC) Pratiram Tripura at the monsoon session of the district council held at Kumulwng, ADC chief executive member Ranjit Debbarma said that the authorities have arranged for creating 118 man-days using a fund of Rs. 1 lakh 18 thousand received under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MG NREGS) in the current financial year.
The funds would be spent in repairing damaged parts of ADC sub-zonal offices, he said.
The ADC generated 19 lakh 49 thousand 32 man-days in the last financial year, CEM Debbarma maintained.
ADC member and in-charge of education Radhacharan Debbarma said in response to a separate query on the day that the 13th Finance Commission had sanctioned Rs. 7 crore 14 lakh for development of the Kokborok language and creating documented texts of the language.
The district council authorities have taken serious note at developing the indigenous linguistic forms. Rs. 29 lakh 95 thousand was spent for translation and documentation of Kokborok language, Rs. 1 lakh 35 thousand was spent for creating a trilingual dictionary of Kokborok, Bengali and English, Rs. 5 crore 59 lakh 96 thousand was spent for establishing state and zonal Kokborok libraries. Rs. 25 thousand was earmarked for research activities on Kokborok language, Radhacharan said adding that stress was laid on making documentary films, collecting samples of oral languages, music etc.
