AGARTALA, Jan 3 (TIWN): Storms of controversies are going on with a recently exposed issue on Tripura’s Chief Secretary Sanjeev Ranjan and DGP’s denials to meet the Governor of Tripura on the order of Chief Minister. It was known from a reliable source that Governor Tathagata Roy wanted to discuss on the law and order situation of Tripura with the two officers, but they didn’t meet him as CM forbid them to go to Raj Bhawan. Opposition BJP leader MLA Ratan lal Nath raised question, “Why did the Chief Secretary and DGP go to meet the Chief Minister after Governor asked them something. Governor is the head of Police Dept, administration and judiciaries. When Governor calls them, they are bound to follow his orders”. However, both DGP and the Chief Secretary are silent over the issue. "Tripura is undergoing a total constitutional crisis situation and the Chief Minister is acting just like spy of Pakistan and China. As per the constitution Chief Minister is bound to answer the Governor", said Nath.

"Manik Sarkar is not a Chief Minister of an independent state. He is also ruled under the federal structure. According to the law under section 265, 257, 355 he is bound to obey the Governor or it comes under unconstitutional activity", said Nath.

Noteworthy, it was known from a daily newspaper that Chief Minister was called by Governor Tathagata Roy on 29th December and asked him about Santanu and Sudip Datta Bhaumik murder cases. The Governor also asked Chief Minister Manik Sarkar about BSF Officer Dipak Kr Mandal's murder case who was killed by Sonamura based smugglers. On the next day, CM had called the DG and Chief Secretary, but Manik Sarkar has allegedly restricted them to meet the Governor.

Reacting over the charges brought against CM, Ratan Lal Nath further said, "What was the issue that needed to hide from the Governor that CM forbid them to meet him ? Both Chief Secretary and  DGP work under the Governor and they are bound to follow his order"

"What going on in Tripura.....is this called administration ? Red Politics has damaged the whole system, corrupted the departments.  Law and order collapsed in Tripura. In this situation, CM is proving himself as an agent of China and Pakistan", added Nath.

The opposition party has demanded a press conference by DGP and CS to make it clear what was the issue actually.
