Agartala, Aug 22 (TIWN): The 2-day long 32nd Annual General Conference of Silchar Divisional Insurance Employees’ Association (SDIEA)is slated to be held here on Aug 23 and 24 at Muktadhara Auditorium.

An open rally is going to be organized on the event on Aug 23. Chief Minister Manik Sarkar will grace the programme with his esteemed presence as chief guest. Secretary of Reception Committee Shyamal Chakraborty gave this information through a statement today.

Around 200 delegates will join the conference from Kachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi. Besides, Joint Secretary of the association Srikanta Mishra and President of North East Insurance Employees’ Association Sartanjib Das will address the open rally.

It is worthy to mention here that LIC made a lot of development in the last 58 years as a Nationalized Industry. The corporation played a role of pride in social and national development along with keeping foundation of Indian economy on a strong base.

In spite of that an initiative of privatization has been going on during last two decades. The insurance employees led by All India Insurance Employees’ Association have been continuing struggle against this trend. At the same time the association observing different programmes to maintain economic sovereignty, indivisibility, harmony and integrity of the country. At present struggle is going on against increasing foreign investment in insurance sector and privatization of insurance sector. In such a situation 32^nd conference has a lot of significance.
