AGARTALA, Dec 19 (TIWN): With a major jolt for opposition BJP, Gomati Dist CJM has rejected the case's acceptance against Jharna Das Baidya.
CJM Gomati said before filing a case against any MP one has to take permission from the District Magistrate or President of India or the Governor of the state, in a press meet BJP advocate Arun Kanti Bhowmik told media.
Detailing about the court's decision, however, Arun Kanti Bhowmik said, "CJM has done a mistake as under Section 196 the case must be accepted as Jharna Das Baidya was addressing not as an MP, but just as a political leader".
"We have appealed in High Court to review the Gomati CJM's decision. MP Jharna Das Baidya had delivered a hate-speech against BJP giving life threats to BJP activists.
MP Jharna Das Baidya’s recently delivered address in a rally has triggered controversy across the state. The MP said, “After 2018’s February month’s election we will take full revenge against all people who opposed us. BJP’s Biplab Deb will run to his wife at Delhi but where will you go ? Before the cabinet meeting we will take all measures of revenge”.
