AGARTALA, Dec 15 (TIWN): Kailashahar Airport under PM Modi's UDAN project to start functioning soon. AAI Chief Guruprasad Mohapatra told media, "Once the Airline operators start operation, we will make the Airport".
"The Regional Connectivity Scheme is meant to connect small cities with each-other and then big cities. In the 2nd round of UDAN Tripura's Kalishahar Airport is in the map", said Guruprasad Mohapatra.
Kailashahar Airport was an airport located at Kailashahar in the state of Tripura, India. The airport was shut down in mid 1990 due to lack of space. After that, there has been no attempt to relocate it since the Modi Govt led UDAN project had started.
UDAN-RCS, UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) is a regional airport development and "Regional Connectivity Scheme" (RCS) of Govt of India, with the objective of "Let the common citizen of the country fly", aimed at making air travel affordable and widespread, to boost inclusive economy.
