AGARTALA, Dec 14 (TIWN): The Supreme Court of India on Thursday has permitted Tripura's terminated 10323 teachers to continue their jobs for more 6 months. However, this time SC has set the dead line as 30th June, 2018 as the teachers last day for teaching job under the Govt of Tripura. On the other side, 12000 non-teaching jobs' recruitment are on hold. The 10323 teachers are happy with the acceptance of the review-petition of the terminated teachers. The 3 cases : 37795 / 2017, 377798/ 2017, 39674/ 2017 representing GT, PGT and Primary teachers. The Supreme Court earlier, on Monday deferred hearing in the case relating to 10,323 government teachers of Tripura, who are set to lose their jobs on December 31 following an apex court order but today the Court has finally permitted teachers for 6 months of job-extension. The state government had also filed another petition - to vacate the stay on recruitment of 12,000 non-teaching staffs. The third case had been filed by two graduate teachers seeking review of the Supreme Court order passed on March 29.
In 2014 after some deprived youths filed a case against 2010’s teachers' recruitment and High Court had terminated the teachers following the illegal recruitment which was done, without following any merit.
The teachers’ lives still could be saved by the CPI-M Govt as High Court had given an open option to the state govt saying that the jobs can be saved if the deprived youths are appointed in their respective posts, but due to Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s arrogance the HC's verdict challenged in the Supreme Court by Tripura Govt but again on March 29, 2017 SC in the final hearing kept the HC’s verdict effective and fixed the last date of teachers jobs as Dec 31st, 2017.
Now, once again SC has extended the job-tenure of the teachers for more 6 months and said that 30th June is the last date of their jobs.
