AGARTALA, Dec 13 (TIWN): Opposition BJP’s wing Mohila Morcha has hit AD Nagar Police Station following 48 hours of passage without any arrest after a minor girl of 12 years was molested by one State Govt Officer. The accused has been identified as Chittaranjan Majumder, an officer under State’s Income Tax Dept. The accused has allegedly molested the minor girl at Laxmipur, at Camper Bazar area of Belabour. But till now the officer was not arrested, neither he has been suspended led the BJP Mohila Morcha to come in massive protest today. Addressing the media in front of A D Nagar Police Station, the agitators said, “If within 24 hours Chittaranjan Majumder is not arrested, police do not have idea what we will do if the culprit is not arrested within 24 hoursâ€. Presently the BJP activists have blocked road at there. “Such a big incident has occurred, but even after 24 hrs of passage police is unable to catch the culprit. This is unacceptable. Police have no intention to arrest himâ€, said the protesters.
“If Chittaranjan Majumder was actually missing, how he is allowed to attend his office ? Why there is no suspension of the official ? Thus after 24 hours if he is not arrested we will not withdraw road blockade and will not move until he is arrested”, said the Mohila Morcha leaders.
“We have also information that for bail, the official is going to court regularly”, alleged the agitators.
At the first after the incident Mohila Morcha had went to A D Nagar PS but police told them to lodge complain at Women PS. After that the Women Police had completed medical checkup and it was proven that molestation was done with her. But till now, police could not arrest Chittaranjan Majumder.
However, the BJP activists have timebounded police with 24 hours to arrest Chittaranjan Majumder to avoid further protest.
