AGARTALA, Dec 3 (TIWN): Even though police have recovered heavy amounts of cashes but in a press conference DGP A K Sukla told media that police do not know anything whether there was any cash exchange among bankers' family members and kidnappers. "Rs. 50 lakhs of cash exchange among kidnappers and any of the victim families have not been officially recorded", said DGP replying to media question. Apart from this, the state police chief also said that for the investigation purpose, many things have to be kept hidden for now.
DGP A K Sukla briefing police's action to nab the culprits said, "On 24th Nov bankers were kidnapped at Telimaura and police for a week remained busy in the rescue operation".
"Vehicles were left far from the kidnapping place and the kidnappers were moving from here to there. So various times even though police were closed to them, couldn't nab them. There were many hurdles to identify the locations of the kidnappers as the bike was left at Teliamura-Chakmaghat area whereas car was found at Ambassa. Police have lodged criminal case on the 1st day of kidnapping", added DGP.
"We had also been continued our search operation via helicopter as a part of search. Total 9 persons have been arrested as you know already", said DGP.
However, media asked. 'Is it true that there were around 16 people who kidnapped them?' In reply DGP said, "Till now 9 have been arrested. We have continued our search(investigation)".
The Police Chief also said that only 4 out of the 9 are ex-members of ATTF.
"Police do not work in isolation, we work with public", said DGP at the end.
However, now it's clear that there is no official record of any money exchange between kidnappers and kidnapped bankers families. On the other side, police themselves have unearthed the money.
Amidst all these, Tripura Police have claimed about a successful rescue operation took place in past 7 days and DGP claimed that ' Police have proven it's capability once more'.
