AGARTALA, Dec 3 (TIWN): After a long slumber and CPI-M controlled nepotism, Tripura Police once again has proven its capability to control the peace by catching 9 All Tripura Tigers Force (ATTF) former members and a successful rescue operation done during last 7 days. Amidst clouds and confusions, questions raised by media and common people, at last 4 bank officials are safe without any harm and also the recovery of Rs. 50 lakhs within 24 hours of arrest was a great surgical strike upon the terrorism problems in state, which if was not stopped in time, could be increased more in coming days. The ATTF in 1993 came back to normal lives but again they started various disturbances across ADC areas and finally before 1 week 4 bank officials were kidnapped by them brutally. In this condition, what police after 1 week not only rescued the officials but also in very smart process recovered the money was given to the kidnappers.
K.V.Srijeesh, IGP said, "Through our sources, we have succesfully done the investigation. During the investigation police were tracking the kidnappers".
According to police, one woman was also arrested in Bankers kidnapping case, said DIG Arindam Nath.
The 9 arrested persons are : 1) Rakesh Debbarma 2) Sachindra Debbarma 3) Jyan Debbarma 4) ) Sanjit Debbarma, 5) Karna Debbarma 5) Surendra Debbarma, 6) Abhiram Debbarma 7) Kanoon Mohan Malsum, 9) Ranjit Debbarma.
The money was kept hidden at Sidhai, in Rakesh Debbarma's home in Belmura of Sidhai.
"All of them are surrendered militants of ATTF", said DIG Arindam Nath in a press note.
The All Tripura Tiger Force is a Tripuri nationalist insurgent group active in the Tripura region of India. It was founded on July 11, 1990, by a group of former Tripura National Volunteer members under the leadership of Ranjit Debbarma. They surrendered but never fixed. However, Tripura Police's arrest of 9 ATTF member, it will keep the peace on hold in the long run.
