AGARTALA, Dec 3 (TIWN): Following the letter sent by the MHRD to all the state govts, which says to bring all the SSA teachers under state govts budget, Tripura SSA Teachers under SSA Welfare Association have started their massive protest on Dec 3 in front of Rabindra Bhawan.
From various parts of the state SSA teachers have been gathered in front of Rabindra Bhawan and conducted a rally.
Background of the Protest : In a letter to all the state govts on Nov 15, MHRD Joint Secretary Manish Garg told states, "The Dept has emphasizing to the states during the PAB meeting that the states should fill up the state vacancies first before filling up posts under SSAs. Teachers salaries, equivalent to vacant state cadre posts which was deducted in the past for Odisha Chattishgarh in 2014-2015. Accordingly it has been decided that the salaries of the teachers sanctioned under SSAs to the tune of teacher vacancies in the state sector will be shifted to state and will not be funded under SSAs".
But from the state govt nothing has been said clearly about their regularization. Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty is also maintaining silence over the issue.
In this situation the SSA teachers for their survival started their massive protest by gathering at Rabindra Bhawan today.
