AGARTALA, Dec 1 (TIWN): Along with the whole world, state Tripura also observed the World AIDS Day-2017. In this regard a rally was conducted at Agartala, participated by Govt Officials, Ministers led by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar.
The rally kicked off from Umakanta ground where massive number of students, grown-ups had participated.
Health Minister Badal Chowdhury was also present on that occasion and walked in the rally.
World AIDS Day, designated on December 1 every year since 1988 is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS caused by the spread of HIV infection, and mourning those who have died of the disease. Government and health officials, non-governmental organizations and individuals around the world observe the day, often with education on AIDS prevention and control.
World AIDS Day is one of the eight official global public health campaigns marked by WHO.
