AGARTALA, Nov 25 (TIWN): 2 more were arrested in Tripura's senior journalist Sudip Datta Bhaumik's murder case on Saturday by Tripura Police. The arrests were done after SIT's investigation into the case but shockingly world recorder Dharmendra Singh was also found accused in Tripura senior journalist Sudip Datta Bhaumik's murder case. Recently Dharmendra Singh had come into media limelight after he claimed to won over world-level wood apple breaking for 2 times in last few months. Another Amit Debbarma who is also a jawan in TSR 2nd Bn was arrested in the connection of sensitive murder. Tripura's senior journalist Sudip Datta Bhaumik was shot dead in the TSR 2nd Bn office on Nov 21. Earlier 2 were arrested including the Commandant of the 2nd Bn Tapan Debbarma and his PG Nandalal Reang. (TSR 2nd Btln jawan Dharmendra Singh who had made world record by smashing highest numbers of wood apples (50) by head in 3 minutes, on Nov 11 has broken own record by breaking 51 wood apples in 2.50 minutes representing his own state).

 But, today state will be shocked to let about the criminal sides of the TSR Jawan. 

 Sudip Datta Bhaumik's murder raised various protests across the nation. From Assam to Nagaland, Bengalore to Uttar pradesh, the journalists have condemned the incident. Even at the international media also the issue of increasing journalist-killing in Tripura was raised, terming it an attack upon democracy and collapsing of the 4th pillar of democracy.

Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy had expressed shocks over the shot dead of Tripura’s veteran journalist Sudip Datta Bahumik working in Sandyan Patrika, who is the 2nd journalist of the state killed within the gap of 2 months.

 Addressing media, Roy said, “The incident mysterious and sad. The news I heard but the details are yet to be gathered. How, where the firing was done…..in details, I am trying to know from the Govt. I believe, I will see the incident till the end. How from a Govt boundary, through a Govt rifle a journalist was murdered ? The murder of Sudip Datta Bhaumik was more dangerous than the murder of Santanu Bhaumik….I have to see till the end”.

“One after one 2 journalists were murdered and the risk of journalists’ lives can’t be denied”, added Governor.

Asking further about the CBI investigation, Governor asked journalists to give a written letter to him demanding CBI.
