AGARTALA, Nov 2 (TIWN): Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma along with Tripura BJP leaders leveled a serious allegation against Tripura Police saying that SIT works as CPI-M's B-Team and whenever any CPI-M leader or party member is involved in any murder case, SIT is formed to save the culprit. "I became surprised to know that Jiten Das was acquitted in Kalpana murder case. If Jiten Das did not killed his wife, then who killed her ? Police should give answer. This is how CPI-M operates with murder cases and shelters under loose investigation and instead of CBI they form SIT who have been failed totally to find out the criminals in every cases. If this is the performance of SIT with Kalpana murder case, what will be the future of Santanu murder case?" "If under CPI-M controlled SIT all accused acquitted in Kalpana Das's murder case then how SIT is to probe Santanu murder case ?", said Sarma.

"Every time I come in Tripura, I have been introduced with peculiar aspects. Jiten Das, CPI-M leader has been acquitted in Kalpana murder case, has shocked me'", said the Minister.

Noteworthy, Tripura's deteriorating law and order are resulting pathetically, with 86 % unconvicted cases in various crime related cases. Hence Kalpana Das murder case is not exceptional. The Ex-CPI-M leader Jiten Das along with 6 others acquitted in Kalpana murder case.

Along with Jiten Das, Jiten Das's brother Atindra Das and nephew Shivdutta Das were also acquitted in the murder case. The verdict was pronounced by judge S. Bhattacharjee, Judge of the fast track court on Tuesday, whereas Pijush Biswash was the advocate of Jiten Das and the Govt lawyer was Bhaskar Debbarma.  

In this condition what will happen to Santanu murder case, which is already suffering from loose investigation ? This question  has generated much resentment in Tripura media world. 

Although the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of police constituted by the state government for the investigation of Kalpana Das murder case but Jiten Das finally got relief and most likely to join the party again. Jitendra Das,was the former Sabhadhipati (president) of Paschim Zilla Parishad until July 2014 and a senior leader of the CPI-M Sadar sub-divisional committee. Kalpana's death stirred the political and non-political circles in the Left-ruled Tripura a year back. Jitendra Das, his two younger brother and nephew were arrested by police earlier in connection with the murder of 62-year-old Kalpana Das, who was a retired employee of Tripura police department.
