AGARTALA, Nov 2 (TIWN): Tripura CPI-M Govt, which has been considered as expert in data creating and bagging awards , has done a great mistake when its Chief Minister said that Tripura's every person's income is Rs. 197.26 at the average but his finance minister Bhanulal Saha said that 68 % people here are BPL. MLA Ratan lal Nath raised question, according to the Assembly data given by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar the average income of common people in state per year is Rs. 72,000 that means Rs. 197.26 per day--indicates per 5 families, the income is 986 rupees which means poverty is almost nil in Tripura, but then how Tripura Finance Minister announce that 68 % people are under BPL category.

"BPL means the income is Rs. 27 per heads at villages and in towns its Rs. 33. It shows both the Ministers are differing in their speeches separate figures and data shows how much the data are reliable".

'That's how Fingers became Banana Trees in last 25 yrs', said Ratan lal Nath.

Hitting upon the Central deprivation, Nath said, "Actually, the term Central deprivation is invalid for Tripura. As per Assembly data, the expenditure of Tripura for the current FY is 15957 crores, means Tripura Govt's every days expenditure is Rs. 43.71 crores".

"The yearly income of Tripura is 1742 crores. So with an easy sum it reveals that with Tripura Govt's income the state can be run for only 40 days, whether for rest of the days Tripura Govt has to depend upon the Central Govt 100 %".

"Paying respect to the federal structure, Central Govt has been allocating funds for Tripura but the corrupt govt here has always used the funds for their personal benefits", Nath added.
