AGARTALA, Nov 1 (TIWN): Allegations are coming targeting the Tripura Police for their failure in Kalpana Das murder case and to find out a single culprit related to the sensational murder.
Total 44 persons were managed for witness, said Jiten Das's Adv. Pijush Biswas.
But question is raising, when 44 persons gave witnesses in the court, why police couldn't nabbed a single person who were involved in the murder.
Additional Sessions Court No.-5 court on Tuesday acquitted suspended CPI-M leader and “Blue Eyed” Jiten Das. Although the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of police constituted by the state government for the investigation of Kalpana Das murder case but Jiten Das finally got relief and most likely to join the party again.
Jitendra Das,was the former Sabhadhipati (president) of Paschim Zilla Parishad until July 2014 and a senior leader of the CPI-M Sadar sub-divisional committee.
Kalpana's death stirred the political and non-political circles in the Left-ruled Tripura a year back. Jitendra Das, his two younger brother and nephew were arrested by police earlier in connection with the murder of 62-year-old Kalpana Das, who was a retired employee of Tripura police department.
Later, Tripura Govt constituted SIT to prove the murder took place in 2015. She was found dead at their home at Ranir Bazar with severe injuries on her body, cut with sharp knife.
Jiten Das's brother Atindra Das and nephew Shivdutta Das were also acquitted in the murder case.
The verdict was heard by judge S. Bhattacharjee, Judge of the fast-truck court on Tuesday, whereas Pijush Biswash was the advocate of Jiten Das and the Govt lawyer was Bhaskar Debbarma.
