AGARTALA, Oct 24 (TIWN): The marauding floods that have created havoc in the lives of the people of Tripura have led to disruption of communication facilities, severely affecting the transportation of goods and essential commodities t leading to scarcity of vegetable in the local market areas.

Owing to such shortage in the essential food commodities, the prices of vegetable soared high with people being bound to buy them at different rates.

The price of 1 kg green chilly is Rs.300; price of 1 kg potol is Rs 100 and price of 1 kg brinjal is Rs 100.

Although there is a dearth of sufficient quantity of vegetables following the flood spate, the vendors as observed were selling their commodities at different prices. The purchasers are being forced to buy their essentials at high rates due to unavailability of adequate stock.
