Udaipur: Dead body recovered from from Gomati River

UDAIPUR, August 15(TIWN): Fire fighters recovered a dead body early morning on Independence Day floating on the water of the river. At around 6.30am people saw the dead body lying on the beach of Gomati River and informed Udaipur Fire Station. Accordingly two fire engines rushed to Chhanban and recovered the dead body from the beach near Subhash Bridge.

   It is learnt that it the dead body of Manoranjan Debnath (35) of Maharani village under Radhakishorepur Police Station. Manoranjan was a very poor man and a daily worker. On 13th August he made a suicide attempt by jumping into the Gomati River in the afternoon. Being a very poor man Manoranjan was finding it hard to make both ends meet. It was a family with want being constant companion.

     On 13th August Maniranjan's daughter asked some money to buy a Rakhi that his daughter wanted to tie on a boy, whom she calls as Dada, living near their house. But Manoranjan had no money in his pocket to give her. At this his daughter began to cry bitterly . The crying face of his daughter made Manoranjan exptremely humiliated and out of frustration Maniranjan made the suicide attempt jumping from Maharani barrage.  The fire fighters and Disaster Management Team were searching for him for the last 72 hours but in vain. Ultimately his dead body was recovered this morning.
