AGARTALA, Oct 23 (TIWN): With a boon for Tripura’s Railway passengers, the much awaited Rajdhani Express is likely to begin from this month, NFR Chief Administrative Officer A K Yadav in his one day visit in Tripura told media. A K Yadav has arrived in state on Monday to inspect various ongoing projects including Indo-Bangla Railway and had a meeting with Chief Minister Manik Sarkar at the Secretariat. While addressing the media, Yadav said, “To begin a Rajdhani it needs some works to be completed first as a matter of safety concerns. However, after the successful trial of Rajdhani from Agartala to Lumding, we are trying to launch the Rajdhani officially form this month or soonâ€. The Rajdhani express which arrived at Agartala Railway Station on Oct 13, had left for Lumding as a part of trial run in the evening of Oct 17. The trail remained successful whereas the official inauguration time is yet to disclose.
No, only few days left when Tripura's railway passengers' dreams to be fulfilled to travel via Rajdhani Express to New Delhi as after the trial run the official inauguration date will be announced soon.
The dream is being fulfilled under the Present Railway Minister Piyush Goyal's era as the Rajdhani express which had arrived at Agartala Railway Station Oct 13’s 3.30 AM and on last Tuesday as a part of trial run has left for Lumding. During Tripura Sundari express's inauguration on July-31st, 2016, the then Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu promised that Tripura to get Rajdhani Express soon.
Although Prabhu wanted the Rajdhani's function in Tripura within one month but due to safety issues it has been slightly delayed but now only few days left when passenger service of Rajdhanito begin, most likely from the day of Diwali. Thousands of people have been gathering at Agartala Railway Station since morning to have a glimpse of the new Express train during its journey began from Agartala Railway Station.
