AGARTALA, Oct 19 (TIWN): With a shocking note, Tripura Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha said that MGNREGA works (mandays) can increase the GDP volume.

"Without MGNREGA's mandays how work will progress ? How GDP will rise ?", Saha asked.

"Central Govt is consistently decreasing the MGNREGA funds which is directly affecting the poor people as well as the work progress of the state. Infrastructure developmental funds also has been slashed", added Saha.

On the other side, Central Govt has clearly said due to Tripura Govt's failure in showing utilization uses and expenses the fund was slashed.

Moreover, whereas Tripura Govt asking for more mandays and increase in salaries at the same time pending wages MGNREGA by the CPI-M govt here has been alleged by opposition Congress, BJP.
