AGARTALA, Oct 16 (TIWN): Education scams in Tripura are depriving qualified unemployed youths since decades, but those who are not qualified are enjoying the higher posts without qualification across Tripura Colleges. Tripura Govt in the name of Lecturer-crisis had appointed school teachers in Colleges who were never shifted in other depts. The attempt of the Govt has not only compromised with the quality education, but also a larger section of qualified youths are forced to continue temporary jobs as Guest Lecturer in various colleges. A single petition in the High Court by unemployed youth may blow the jobs who have not completed their P.hDs and still working as College lecturers.

On the other side, Tripura records with 600 NET / SET/ P.hD qualified unemployed youths and there has been no recruitment since 7 years.

Presently, state is burdened with 600 number of scholars, who have completed their P.hD or already passed SLET/ NET under UGC. But since 6 to 7 years there is no recruitment for Asst Professors whereas Colleges are still undergoing heavy crisis of Asst Professors. Tripura Govt although busy in College building inaugurations with Central funds; with the additional desire of becoming number one in literacy, education, higher education rate but the Colleges which are 90 % dominated by SFI, DYFI and plenty of guest lecturers; lack sufficient number of Assistant Professors.

Recently. 'All Tripura Unemployed NET/ SET / P.hD' wrote letter to the CM Manik Sarkar, Governor Tathagata Roy, Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty, Director of Higher Education Dr. B. Palit  with the following demands :

1.Creating  Post of assistant  professors for newly established colleges in Tripura,

2.Recruitment of regular teacher instead of guest lectures,

3.Once PGTs were recruited for the scarcity of candidates for Assistant Professors in colleges. Since the NET /SET /PhD candidates are surplus now a days, they should be appointed on regular basis instead of under qualified or less – qualified  PGTs,

4.Since 2010  ,no recruitment of UR Assistant Professors found in Tripura,

5.For the benefit of students and developing the education system in Tripura, qualified teachers are must .This should be taken care of,

6.Recruitment process should be equally initiated by the government as it did for the school education recently.
