500 BJP activists gherao Gomati DM Office Protesting Pre-Poll violence, Fake Voter list : Demand immediate arrest of Oct 11's Mirza violence culprits

UDAIPUR, Oct 13 (TIWN): Opposition BJP has hit Gomati Dist Office on Friday demanding immediate arrest of the CPI-M activists who injured BJP activists on Wednesdays during voter list's hearing at Mirza, Udaipur. Around 500 BJP supporters had gheraoed DM Office since morning 9.30 am that left the whole administration paralyzed for hours. Demand was : Police and DM's neutral intervene in the increasing poll violence in Gomati Dist along with whole Tripura. All the exists, entrances of DM Office were paralyzed due to the sudden and unannounced blockade at the District Administration's office.

However, immediately ADM, SDM, Add SP rushed to the spot and tried to control the situation, but the vexed BJP activists denied the plea asking an immediate resolution of such increasing violence upon the opposition party workers. At around 11 AM ADM Animesh Das had promised the agitators that such incidents will not be repeated in future. 

After the one an half hour long protest in front of DM Office led by MLA Pranajit Singha Roy, Dist President BJP Padamohon Jamatia, Rupak Adhikari Dist Secretary, BJP spokesman cum Dist Observer Subrata Chakraborty, atlast the gherao was withdrawn. 

On the other side, following Wednesday's political clash at Udaipur's Mirza, topmost leaders of state BJP have met the Chief Electoral Officer of Tripura Sriram Taranikanti demanding his intervene to prevent such issues.

Meeting Taranikanti, BJP Spokesperson Ashok Sinha and senior Subol Bhowmik said that such incidents are nothing new but in an organized manner the clashes were set on fire with pre-planning by the ruling party CPI-M. Apart from Udaipur Mirza, at Agartala and other places also such clashes erupted among CPI-M and BJP during Voter List's hearing.

At Udaipur Mirza on Wednesday, atleast 11 BJP activists were injured in a clash with CPI-M. At the primary level CPI-M alleged that only CPI-M supporters were injured and 5 of them were admitted at Gomati Dist hospital. But at night it was informed that BJP activists’ injured members numbers were more than CPI-M.

As per Udaipur Police's record total 19 people injured on yesterday's clash whereas total 11 BJP and 8 CPI-M activists were injured. 

BJP Gomati Dist vice president Jiten Majumder was also seriously injured in the clash. All were admitted Tripura Sundari Sub divisional Hospital.
