AGARTALA, Oct 8 (TIWN): Tripura Govt’s bad days have begun 4 months ahead of Assembly Election. When 10323 are roaring with protest and SC gave stay order on 12000 posts, the CPI-M supporters of Jute Mill to go in massive protest against the left front govt from Monday, demanding their long pending wages. Jute Mill was almost the party office of CPI-M but today Jute Mill workers are setting protest-dais against the same Govt which may turn as one of the turning point of oppositions’ increasing vote banks in 2018’s election. Addressing a press meet, Jute Mill employees said, “On 25 Oct, 2016 Supreme Court had given a historical verdict by ordering the state govt to pay the Jute Mill and Govt undertaken PSUs to pay salaries on the basis of 1-1-1996 following HC's verdict".

"Eventhough, Govt here had challenged the Guwahati HC and appealed in SC and managed a stay order but at the end SC also repeated the verdict of High Court”.

“With the verdict of SC, all the Jute Mill employees and pensioners now have rights for equal salaries as other Govt employees, but as per the verdict Tripura Govt is now paying only the high salaries and pensions only to the high officials depriving the huge number of working class”, said the agitators.

The workers however also said, ‘as per the verdict Jute Mill also comes under PSU then why we are deprived’.

Tripura Govt miserably lost in a case at Supreme Court, which was appealed after Guwahti High Court passed order in 2011 to provide salary in Central scale to the Jut Mill Employees. But this verdict was limited for the section of deprived employees who appealed in HC and rest others due to their CPI-M’s backness didn’t go against the state govt.

But now officers who appealed in the high court they have own the case, whereas the working class have been fooled for  a long after the verdict as CITU leader cum Minister Manik Dey kept on saying their salaries also will be increased. But today the CITU who demand to be the working class have  been deprived of their rights. With all these from Oct-9 (i.e. Monday) Jute Mill to be paralyzed as the workers have announced to go for strike for an uncertain period of time voicing for their wages.
