AGARTALA, Oct 8 (TIWN): Acting on specific intelligence inputs provided by BSF intelligence branch Gokulnagar, on 6thSeptember 2017, troops of BSF seized huge quantity of Ganja, Garments (Sarees),and Cattles in AOR of Sector Gokulnagar, having market value Rs11 lac while being smuggled to Bangladesh.

On specific information of BSF intelligence Branch, troops of BOP Kalamchera 74 Bn and police party of PS Kalamchera carried out joint ops in the general area of village Kalamchera under PS- Kalamchera, district –Sepahijala. During search ops party seized 144 Kgs dry Ganja (Cannabis) kept for smuggling to Bangladesh is hidden in anabandoned house. Market value of seized Ganja is about Rs. 7, 20,000/- (Seven Lacs and Twenty Thousand only).

In an another operation, on 6th October 2017, troops of BOP Boxanagar, 74 Bn BSF seized 130 nos of Sarees while smugglers were trying to smuggle these garments (sarees) from India to Bangladesh, having market value Rs 2,60, 000/- (Two lac sixty thousand only).

On 6th Oct 2017 on specific information of BSF intelligence, troops of BOP Boxanagar, Ex-74 Bn BSF seized 15 cattle heads having market value Rs 1,06,750/- (One lac six thousands and seven hundred fifty)  from AOR of BOPBoxanagar kept in jungle area for smuggling to Bangladesh by using wooden plank.

It is worth to mentioning that on specific & actionable Intelligence provided by intelligence branch, BSF is continuously seizing several of contraband items, cattle, andcloth items meant for smuggling purpose. BSF is making all effort to curb smuggling activities by educating border population(for not indulging in smuggling activities) and by dominating border effectively, especially in unfenced area of Sub-division Sonamura.
