AGARTALA, Oct 7 (TIWN): 3rd accused in Santanu Bhowmik's murder case Sachin Debbarma was produced before the court on Saturday for the second time after he was sent for 14 days police remand on Sep-24. On Saturday, Dist & Session Judge Court of West Tripura has further sent him for 14 days Jail Custody till Oct-20. Sachin Debbarma, who is former NLFT militant was arrested on Sep-24 in connection with the murder of journalist Santanu Bhowmik, who was killed in CPI-M's tribal wing GMP & IPFT clash on Sep-20. However total 10 to 15 people had killed Santanu in broad day light amidst 100 police's gathering. Police's role is highly suspicious in Santanu murder case but till day not a single police was suspended in Santanu murder case. Moreover, police have been ended by arresting only 3 persons who will most likely get bail after 3 months just as Anuara murder case.

Thus it seems, till the Election the issue will go on whereas once the election is finished then who will remember Santanu ? Earlier 2 more Bikash Debbarma and Shyamal Debbarma were arrested and sent for  jail custody till Sep-18.

On the other side Manik Sarkar is also not ready to call CBI to probe Santanu murder case. Tripura CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar on Friday in a press conference said, “Only the killers of Santanu and those who helped in the murder are demanding CBI investigation in Santnau murder case”. “They are also not allowing police to arrest the culprits”, said Dhar. 

However, the misuse of power by various state govts in the federal structure led the Left Front Govt to stop the internet for long 5 days and 2 times in last 15 days. The power-occupied ruling party even though was in clash with IPFT but before investigation it has announced CPI-M’s tribal wing GMP was not involved in that clash but only IPFT has done all these. Not only this, in today’s press conference CPI-M State Secretary indirectly accused the journalists of the state for murdering Santanu, whereas CPI-M yet to express why it doesn’t want CBI investigation in Santnau murder case ?

On Sep-20, a brutal attack had killed Tripura young journalist Santanu Bhowmik. Resident of Jirania, the young journalist was associated with various electronic media who has been killed while covering IPFT and CPI-M clash at Mandai.

The barbaric murder has taken place on Wednesday afternoon when after getting informed about an ongoing tension on that hilly zone, Santanu rushed to Mandai to cover the incident. But, while covering the event suddenly an attack was held upon him with sharp weapons (Da) and continuously the attackers were injuring him. However, CPI-M has claimed the murderers were none other than but IPFT activists.

Till day Tripura Police has arrested only 3 persons in Santanu murder case, whereas his murder took place before hundreds of people during Section-144 which had been implemented since Sep-19. But no police official was also suspended in that case.
