Agartala, Oct 2 (TIWN): State Congress led the morning procession with patriotic music across Agartala. Rich tributes were paid to the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, on the occasion of his birth anniversary in various parts of Agartala on Monday.

Gandhi Jayanti is a national festival celebrated in India to mark the occasion of the birthday of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who is unofficially called the "Father of the Nation".

It is celebrated on 2nd October. 

People from various walks of life participitated in morning processions across State.
