AGARTALA, Sep 30 (TIWN): A frequent power cut has disrupted normal lives in Tripura during Durga puja. Eventhough the condition is better in the Capital City Agartala, but in other subdivisions the situation is worse. Udaipur, Dharmanagar and South Tripura are facing hourlong power disruptions even in the day time. However, Tripura power minister 15 days before Durga puja had predicted about the situation in advance, giving a green signal to the constant power disruption, which has proven as true. Blaming the nature for causing disasters across the state, Tripura Power Minister Manik Dey has clearly said on Sep 15 that there are huge gaps in the completion of maintaining works to ensure Durga puja's shedding free period. “Eventhough we have announced about load-shedding schedules for puja-works, but TSECL couldn’t take the works in hand properlyâ€, said Dey.
“Due to continuous bad weather and flood there have been reports of heavy damages across the state. However 80 % work have been completed so far”, said Dey.
“Hopefully the left 20 % work also will be done soon, if weather permits. If the weather doesn’t betray then by 21 to 22 Sep a proper shape can be given to the maintenance works”, said Manik Dey before Durga puja.
However, the press had cleared that maintenance works are in very bad shape especially in the flood affected areas but what is cause of loadshedding across the state it’s unknown.
