AGARTALA, Sep 28 (TIWN): Madhupur PS’s O/C Prasant Kumar Dey is allegedly harassing the common people in various ways since he joined before once and half month, especially those who are connected with illegal drug business.

Eventhough local people complained the issue to local MLA Narayan Chowdhury but no positive utterance was heard from the MLA that fueled the locals’ anger.

On Thursday, thus for long 3 hours O/C Prasant Kumar Dey had been gheroaed by the local tribal people but the O/C remained hidden inside the police station, which had created mass anger among the agitators.

However, later with the increasing mass anger the police officer finally came out and showed his face before the public.

“Day to day the locals are harassed with Ganja and liquor business and even the O/C beats the locals if any Ganja or similar products were found”, alleged a local.

To the tribal women the O/C has clearly said that if the locals want to do liquor business then a hefty amount of bribes must be taken, according the agitators.

Moreover, nabbing the Ganjas from the illegal business holders the O/C sells the products secretly in his own way.  With all these locals gheraoed the O/C for hours, till he assured them for not repeating of similar incidents.

However, how far the locals’ allegations are truth it’s to be seen as by this agitation they have proved that all the villagers livelihoods are to live via illegal product business.
