AGARTALA , Sept 26 (TIWN) : In order to save his image in the brutal murder of young journalist SantanuBhowmik,Manik Sarkar and his own lobby in the Melarmath are alleged to have made a cunning plan to make adivisionwithin the Press Club Agartala . The role of Agartala Press has come under serious question mark as the role of Press Club seemed to be to protect the interests of Manik Sarkar and the ruling party rather than to show sympathy with the bereaved family of Santanu . After the brutal murder of Santanu Agartala Press Club organized a protest rally but in that rally Press Club simply played the role of CPI-M agent as Press Club's banner reflected same message as that of CPI-M and Melarmath .Many of the Press persons alleged that the protest rally of Agartala Press Club was actually a planned activity of CPI-M party and a section of Manik's puppet journos of Agartala gave it the final shape in the name of Agartala Press Club.

It is to be mentioned here that Press Club, which was supposed to have stood by the bereaved family of Santanu and should have raised voice about CBI probe in Santanu murder case to know the actual truth behind this heinous crime .But instead of doing so Manik's puppets journos at Agartala shamelessly took its side by Manik Sarkar and his party's stand .This attempt of of Agartala Press Club is regarded as utterly horribly shameless and purely influenced by a section of journos' own selfish greed .Even the Kolkata Press Club issued statement condemning this brutal murder , the first of such crime in Tripura . Agartala Press Club still did not rectify its stand .On the contrary a group of Manik's puppets under the banner of Press Club met with CM Manik demanding to constitute Special Investigation Team(SIT) to investigate into this case .Immediately Manik Sarkar too accepted their proposal and is learnt to have asked the Director General of Police to take steps in this direction .

      Meanwhile contrary to Press Club's stand Tripura Journalist Union demanded CBI probe into the said case. On Monday delegates of Tripura Journalist Union met with the DMs of 8 districts and submitted one point memorandum to the Chief Minister demanding CBI probe in Santanu murder case .This step clearly indicates that TJU has not faith in Tripura Police and state govt .TJU categorically states that only CBI probe can find out the truths of Santanumurder .

It is to be mentioned here that TIWN investigating team has got some interesting facts while dealing with Santanu murderepisode . These are as follows :-

1. Santanu was asked to go to that place of incident by some person over his mobile phone
2. Santanu took some videos from the place of incident before hs murder but since his killing Santanu's mobile phone is found to be missing .
3. Santanu's call details can bring out some interesting facts
4. Santanu even left that spot more than one hour before hismurder but went there again once he was asked to go by that mysterious caller .So far Manik Sarkar led Tripura Police is a big failure to find any clue behind that murder .Thus , only CBI can bring out the truths .
