Border Fencing:- Union Home Ministry seeks report

Agartala, August 12 (TIWN): Central Home Ministry seeks report from BSF about border fencing between Tripura and Bangladesh. Top official sources of BSF informed about this.
The drafting comitee for the report was prepared under the leadership of a joint team headed by DIG (operation) of BSF Sanjeev Yadav. It is known from the official that 25 percent of the areas remain to be fenced. The work remains incomplete mainly in the Sonamura area where 10km area yet to have border fencing.
Construction of fencing caused troubles to the livelihoods residing near zero line area. According to the sources about 8,000 families lives outside the fencing who is not given rehabilitation package.
