AGARTALA, Sep 21 (TIWN): CPI-M has called 8 hours strike at Jirania subdivision protesting against journalists Santanu Bhowmik's murder at Mandai, under Jirania subdivision.

The young journalist Santanu was killed in a clash among CPI-M and IPFT, whether under the LF Govt police have failed to identify the culprits and nobody has been arrested so far.

The 8 hours strike remained successful at Jirania. Not a single private vehicle was seen on the road, whereas shops were closed. 

On Thursday, crowed thronged to say the last adieu to Santanu, who had been working in many electronic media of the state.
