AGARTALA, Sep 18 (TIWN): Tripura High Court is suffering from identity crisis after the transfer of bold & dynamic High Court Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Gupta who initiated multiple bold judgements like 10323 recruitment scam to SC/ST promotion issue to nail down Manik Sarkar Govt's various corruptions. Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy on Monday hit High Court judge with 'clear-cut-talk' when issues raised about police's role and media's functioning. High Court had conducted a programme with the formation of 'Family Welfare Committee in Tripura' at the direction of Supreme Court. Recently, in the Rajesh Sharma v. State of UP case, the Supreme Court has directed that each complaint of cruelty to a woman by her husband or his relatives, that does not involve tangible physical injuries or death, shall be referred to the Family Welfare Committee of the district.

However, debates were going on among the orators from Chief Justice T Vaiphei to Justice Subashish Talapatra, CM Manik Sarkar to Governor Tathagata Roy about the good and bad sides of the new law led light attacks of views and criticism among the intellectuals.

When Tripura police's role in curving domestic violence has remained with poor records, justice Subashish Talapatra made a point, "I personally believe that SC's move is excellent that will lessen the harassment of the husbands. Arrest is not the solution  to the case, but proper investigation is needed. I would like to tell my media friends, especially who are in electronic media not to pressure upon police to arrest the accused immediately. Do you know how much pressure the police official has to take for this ? If the accused is not found with proper reason to be arrested then the police has to face a lot before the court".

Chief Minister Manik Sarkar in the middle blamed all the Central Govt's since 70 years of independence for crime against women.

At the end Tripura Governor Tathgata Roy said, "The pressure has to be created due to the delay of justice, loose investigation leading a mass suffering since 70 years of independence".

"Due to the delay of judicial proceeding the question of arrest comes", said Tathagata Roy.

Tripura HC Chief Justice T Vaiphei  also mentioned, "498's modification doesn't mean police role has been relaxed".
